As part of Osborne Clarke’s “Future of Financial Services Week”, four international Osborne Clarke experts put some colour on the term DeFi

As one of the international go-to law firms for digitization and digital transformation Osborne Clarke has already been participating in the Blockchance Confernce in previous years. Also in 2021, Osborne Clarke will attend the Blockchance Conference, Germany's leading blockchain conference, from 2 - 4 December 2021 with our expert lawyers from OC UK, OC Italy and OC Germany.

Quantum computing technology is being talked about a lot at the moment (articles in the last couple of weeks in the FT and the Economist) and it promises to be transformative for LSH (molecule discovery), T&A (transport network optimisation), R&C (logistics optimisation), TMC (a whole new field for hardware and software, but also boosting AI, advancing batteries research), E&U (climate change modelling), REI (smart cities modelling) and FS (quantum quant trading). There's also the universal issue that it will smash current encryption systems and create huge data security issues.

From 21 to 25 September 2020, the Virtual Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association Business Law Section („ABA”) will take place. Robin Eyben will represent Osborne Clarke on a panel on "Cross Border Corporate Venture Capital Investment in Fintech" on 22 September.

Cryptoassets are where DLT began with Bitcoin, but from that initial idea has grown a wide range of initiatives for how to use this technology to trade value, to raise funds or to transfer assets. Meanwhile ideas about how DLT-based digital currency can be structured have also grown, with the advent of stablecoins and interest from governments and central banks.

From 4 to 9 November 2019, the FinTech Week will take place in Hamburg - Germany's largest FinTech event with over 1,500 visitors from the financial sector. Also Osborne Clarke will be represented there with a speech.
